If your taste in horror films occasionally swings over to the lighter side of the un-dead, might I suggest that you search high and low for the French flick, Vampire Party. This tongue-in-cheek romp had me thinking that Sean of The Dead had just boarded the movie, Airplane. More comedy than horror, this well-funded gem is worth a look...

Vampire Party starts out with a basic premise; three young friends score tickets to an elusive party, where the rich, famous and just plain lucky dance the night away at a secret locale. Feeling as if they'd just pulled off the coup of the century, the friends try to look as if they belong during their champagne-soaked helicopter ride to the Gothic castle.

What the friends don't know is that their follicle-obsessed host (Tcheky Karyo, The Core) and his pals are vampires and the party is merely a facade for their annual buffet. As the vampires' unknowing entrees celebrate, their fanged-hosts pick them off, one by one. Can the three friends avoid being on the menu and manage to stay alive until daylight?

I have to say how much fun I had with this movie, folks. Just flat hysterical, this original horror-spoof elicits the giggles throughout. We have the usual suspects in our victims; the nerd, the ditzy hot-chick, the stud as well as the smart virgin. We even have a dorky orthodontist, desperately trying to get lucky; his dental skills are worshiped by the vampires and his celebrity status is a hoot... But, it's the vampires' quirks and downright ineptness that make the film so darn funny!

If Vampire Party sounds like your cup of tea, and you like your comedy with a side of horror, you will not be disappointed with this film. Nicely Directed by Stephen Cafiero and Vincent Lobelle, Vampire Party is a laugh-out-loud horror comedy that is truly a bloody-good time! Watch in the original French for the best movie laugh....
