Creature Features are on the rise again as Polygon Entertainment brings two monster films to the fore this year. First up is Chaw, an action adventure/thriller about a small village being terrorized by a man-eating, mutant boar, and helmed by Shin Jung-won, director of To Catch a Virgin Ghost. Attacks by the beast create political chaos, a cover-up by the police and the arrival of a bounty hunter.Chaw stars Eom Tae-woong, Jang Hang-seon, Yoon Je-moon, Jeong Yu-mi and Pak Hyeok-kwon. Apparently no boars will be harmed in the making of the film as a team of visual effects artists have developed a fully CG generated giant boar.

Hans Uhlig, Polygon’s founder and CEO explains, “Although we were able to use a practical, full-scale model of the creature for some of the effects shots, the majority of these shots required computer-generated imagery. We assembled our own team of highly skilled and experienced artists who created a fully CG creature, and their work is truly amazing. Be prepared to see some really incredible, and frightening visual effects!”

We have the stills from Chaw here as well as the trailer below:

The second film, Sector 7, is a science fiction action/adventure is about a crew of an oil rig battling deep-sea monsters.

Chaw's release date is currently set for December.
