Based on the novel by Jamie Blanks, Valentine is a sexy slasher flick with the old school theme; a spurned teen grows up to get revenge on the classmates that he felt were cruel to him so many years ago.

The movie begins as four buxom co-eds start receiving ominous Valentine's day cards from a mysterious sender. Rhyming nicely, each card promises a violent death for them. So, when they begin to get killed off in a variety of gruesome ways, the police begin to question the girls circle of male friends.

Remembering a terrible incident at a middle-school dance, the girls suggest that it may be a dorky boy named Jeremy. Not knowing what he looks like as an adult, the girls must try to stay alive until Jeremy is caught.

Now this may sound simple enough, right? Well, since the killer is always wearing a mask, you spend the entire length of the film trying to guess who he is. All the male characters act suspiciously at one time or another, so the movie is as much a mystery as it is a slasher flick.

While the acting in this movie is marginal, the cast list is a who's-who of modern day stars. Denise Richards, David Boreanaz (Angel) and Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy) are just a few of the familiar faces in this movie. Though it's not a great horror film or destined to be a classic, it is a fun movie to watch...once.

So cuddle up with your Valentine sweetie, dim the lights and see if you can guess who the killer really is!

Recommended as a rental... Especially on Valentine's Day.
