"What's going on here?" - Steve (Travis Brorson)
" Survival..." - Lin (Sabrina Gennarino)

As I always enjoy a good zombie flick, I was really looking forward to watching the Days of Darkness. I mean, who can resist the tag-line "Two Billion Zombies... Eleven Humans... Get Ready to Rumble"? Well, read on, if you dare...

Written and Directed by Jake Kennedy, Days of Darkness starts off with a young couple, Steve (Travis Brorson) and his girlfriend, Mimi (Rochelle Pattison) snuggle-in for a night of sex-free camping on a ridge above the city. Little do they know, as they sip cheap champagne, that a comet has crashed to earth and it's carrying something nasty from another galaxy.

The two love-birds roll up their sleeping bags the next morning and as they drive down-hill they begin to run into zombies! Steve is bitten while trying to fend off a pair of blood-thirsty critters before they are rescued by a machete-wielding good-Samaritan. They are then whisked away to a barbed-wired, ex-military base high on the mountain where a band of misfits has managed to survive the night, as well.

Our heroes now include an ex-porn star, a used-car salesman, a wacko preacher, and a couple of muscled ex-military personnel. They all bumble around and manage to argue constantly as to how to best combat the zombies and survive.

As if this movie wasn't bad enough, at this point, now it really goes off the map.

Attempting to be scientific, they have chained-up one of the zombies in the basement, and when this creature's GENITALIA falls-off...yes, falls-off...they decide to dissect it and poke around the zombie's body. Yes, where his genitalia USED to be.

This movie just went from bad to worse as I struggled to make it through. This movie's special effects were sadly overpowered by the silly and downright disgusting storyline. I love to be shocked during a horror movie, but the shockers in this one were nauseating and offensive.

I cannot in good conscience even remotely recommend this movie for I believe it to be one of the worst movies I've ever suffered through.
