Can Fear and Raw Instinct Save You From A Killer?

I have to admit that I was not expecting to be impressed by P2; its cover promising another 'Cute-Chick-Survives-Nightmare' Movie; but, now that I've seen it, I must say that I was fairly impressed with it.

P2 starts as Angela (Rachel Nichols Alias, Charlie Wilson's War) is preparing to leave work for the Christmas holiday. It seems that everyone else has already done so and, save for security, she is alone as she heads for the parking garage--level P2. As expected, her car won't start and she is forced to seek help in the dark and empty building. The friendly parking attendant Tom (Wes Bentley Ghost Rider, Soul Survivors) offers to help jump start her BMW, but when that fails, Angela heads off to call a cab. When that, too, falls through, she finds herself again on level P2 as the lights go out.

The stage is set, and she is not alone.

With only the light from her cell phone, Angela stumbles around in the dark, calling for help. Suddenly, she is attacked from behind and drugged.

A foggy Angela wakes to perky Christmas music, candles, wine and roses. Just one problem: she is chained to a chair and with her is the parking attendant, Tom, grinning at her and offering her a Tupperware turkey dinner.

Angela is terrified as she comes to realize that the attentive Tom is crazy and will never let her go. After she witnesses Tom murder her co-worker in a grisly and shocking manner, Angela manages to finally get away. Locked in the parking structure, running for her life and fighting back with only the things around her, it becomes a battle of sheer will -- Angela's ultimate battle for survival.

P2 makes for a great edge-of-your-seat date movie and keeps you screaming at Angela to 'Run, Run, Run!' Wes Bentley is perfect and extremely scary in the role of Tom, the love-struck psycho. Nicely directed by Franck Khalfoun, P2 is set in a cold, barren parking structure and its prison-like feel adds to the trapped-animal emotion that runs throughout this movie.

The special effects and make-up are shocking and well-placed, nicely adding to the movie's quick pace and 'Boo-Factor'.

P2 makes for a good rental.

    Overall Rating: 2 1/2
