Home Room Class Just Isn't The Same Once You Murder Someone...

"Mr. Riley, we think your daughter is some kind of teenage zombie witch..can we come in and have tea?" -- Jesse (Chad Faust)

This movie starts out as Tamara (Jenna Dewan) is a mousy, awkward high-school girl, struggling for acceptance. Seems that, to add to her troubles, she has a hopeless crush on her teacher, Mr. Natolly (Matthew Marsden). After she writes an editorial in the school paper, exposing the athletic team's steroid abuse problem, all the jocks after her as well.

The jocks decide to play a cruel joke on her, but it goes terribly wrong and Tamara is accidentally killed. Concerned for their futures, they bury her body deep in the woods, but little Tamara is coming back from the grave for her revenge.

This is when the movie goes off the rails -- believe me it is a train-wreck like I haven't seen in a long time. It sounds like a fabulous plot: the dead coming back for revenge; cold and ashen white and stinking like the earth they were buried in.

No, mousy little Tamara comes back from the dead - healthy looking and busty, wearing a mini-skirt, and sporting stiletto heels and a slutty demeanor. Evidently coming back from the dead agrees with her for now she is cock-sure of herself and she seduces and toys with every man in her path. Oh, she kills them as well, but after this movie descends into what seems almost like soft-core porn, the movie ceases to be even remotely scary.

The acting in Tamara isn't too bad, considering the storyline they had to work with, but the rest of it is just downright insulting. The special effects are sparse and the plot borders on ridiculous. A splash of good make-up and special effects right at the end are not nearly enough to save this flick.

Do yourself a favor and Just Say No to Tamara.

Overall Rating: 1/2 of 1 star (And that's a gift)
