Mary Alejo can melt a camera in seconds flat, so it’s not much of a surprise that she was plucked up by Playboy, but what’s even more to her credit is that it happened within a year of becoming a model, landing her dream jobs like Fitness Magazine, MAXIM On Tour, and American Curves...just to name a few!

Dystopia Magazine: What wonderful genes make up your ethnicity?
Mary Alejo: I’m Asian and Spanish!

The word 'Exotic' seems to be tied to a majority of your work, when did you realize that you had something special as a model?
I know that I have that kind of look, and when I see my pictures’ finished, and how I look in all of them, I know that this is what I love to do..and I want to do it as long as I can!

How & when did you get your start as a model?
I got into modeling in June 2005. I wanted to see myself touched up and I shot with a photographer, and another, and after that I got my first tear sheet within a week!

Are you always so confident in front of the camera?
My God, I love the camera! I love it every time I do a shoot, it’s like the first time. I think having a good photographer, being myself, and being nice and kind to everyone and always happy is what keeps me on top as a model.

What shoot has been your favorite so far? Can you tell us about it?
Wow, that’s hard! There are too many good ones...okay, I have to say the Playboy shoot. Shooting for Playboy after such a short time in being a model was amazing! I’d also say a fitness shoot I did for a magazine, because fitness is my whole life!

Are you looking to parlay your modeling career into acting work?
Yes, I am. I’ve been asked so many times, and I plan to soon!

Which do like better-- horror films or suspense films?
Hmm...suspense films.

What’s your favorite?
Gone In Sixty Seconds!

You've hosted a venue for 50 Cent and also have appeared with DMX, is there any chance that you'd move into music?
I love music, without it I’m lost! Yes, anything I want to do, I will get there because I put everything I’ve got into whatever I want to do.

How did you become involved with Jean Dean's UK radio show for the 'Most Exotic Model' title?
Jean Dean sent me an email and asked if I could talk with him live on the air for Most exotic Model of The Year. I’m very easy to find since I put my pic’s and info everywhere! That’s the only way everyone will know who I am!

With all of your appearances and especially your work with Playboy, is your goal to be mega-famous?
Famous? Hmm..so many of us want to be famous... It would be something I’d like, but to me being famous isn’t everything; it’s being happy and enjoying life that’s the best thing—much better than being famous.

Where can your fans expect to see you next?
Wow, I have too many jobs and shoots, it’s really hard to say where and when, since things change all the time. All I can say is go to my website (maryalejo.net)..I’m always updating what I do!

Do you have any interesting fan stories?
Well, I’d rather not say...but I do get fans who sometimes travel from place to place where I will be. Almost all of them go where I’m working next, it’s so nice of them to travel all that way to me.

Do you ever get tired of people staring at you and wishing you were their girlfriends or does that sort of thing make your day? Do you find you have to give up your privacy when you put yourself out there?
No, I never get tired of my fans and friends, it’s my job, and I love it! It’s a gift from God that I have these looks that they like, but there are sometimes where I do get the rude [letters], which is hard not to read, but I don’t let them get to me.

What's the wildest thing you have ever done?
Kiss another model. I can’t help it, were all so hot! (Laughs)

What to you do for fun...if you ever have downtime?
I love the beach, and I like to race cars too, cars have always been my thing! Oh, I almost forgot shopping!

Do you ever feel there's a down-side to being gorgeous?
Yes, too many [other models] think that because I have these looks I can have anything I want, anytime, or get the job easier than them, and that’s wrong. We all have to work and work to get where we want in life!

How has your life changed with modeling? What kind traveling have you done?
Lots of traveling from promotion or spokes model shoots and magazines, and for signings. Modeling changed my life, I found myself. What I’m trying to say is that I do so many things when I’m traveling and other stuff, fitness trainer, make-up artist and lots of things but modeling is what I was born to do, I think...well for now. [laughs]

What do you do to keep yourself so fit? Are you a gym junkie or just 'made that way'?
At the gym I used to work out seven days a week, four hours of cardio, but now I’m slowing down since I made it to where I wanted to look like, now I just do light cardio three times a week, and I love to eat, but just the good stuff.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Wow, I hope I have one or two kids and have my own make up line!

What matters to you most?
Being happy! Having fun everyday because life is too short not to, and having all of your loved ones close to you. I love my mother and grandmom very much!
